Sustainable Development Goals

▌Origin 

Compared to metropolitan areas, the educational facilities are relatively scarce in central Taiwan, in aspects ranging from teachers, hardware, or cultural exposure. According to findings in a 2016 report on the rural-urban differences in school-aged children, disadvantaged children in rural areas are not only undernourished, but also worryingly lacking in learning resources.

We at KFEF began our work in Nantou in the school year 108, and gradually worked our way through neighboring counties in central Taiwan. With our programs, we hope to provide students with a wider range of opportunities, increasing their cultural exposure, making the most efficient use of our resources to narrow the rural-urban gap, and fulfill the United Nation’s SDGs Index.

▌SDGs and Our Programs 

We have incorporated the concept of sustainability into our programs, and will seek to stay in accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  1. HOPE: Hands-on Opportunities in Practical Education (Junior High School)
